Device Technologies was founded in 2001 by Dirk V. Hoyns, bringing with him over twenty years of engineering and project management experience in the medical device and biotechnology fields, spending the last ten years at C. R. Bard, Inc.'s Peripheral Technologies Division. Understanding that developing a broad array of resources in-house can lead to a loss of focus; Device Technologies purpose is to fill that void by providing R&D, product development and manufacturing resources to successfully bring your new products to market quickly.

Dirk currently holds five US Patents and has additional patents pending on devices used in the fields of cardiology, biopsy, endovascular intervention, radiology and other medical specialties. Dirk is skilled in stent design, and has extensive design and fabrication experience with Nitinol. Dirk has been responsible, in whole or in part, for the commercialization of numerous successful medical products.

Dirk is a graduate of Boston’s Wentworth Institute of Technology, with degrees in both Mechanical Design and Management Engineering.
